Average weighted costs of goods sold application


A merchant using Shiphero as their warehouse management software and inventory management system was unable to accurately measure profitability as Shiphero updates costs of products to the latest purchase order. It also did not factor in a breakdown of associated landed costs to apply to the goods. 


First Light built a custom application to run the merchants selected cost of goods sold logic (average weight cost of goods sold) every time a purchase order was received and then update this to Shiphero and their ecommerce platform (Shopify Plus). This process also ran when additional costs were incurred after the PO had been received e.g import costs.
